The work is based on the investigation of immune changes among 153 patient suffering from acute plural empyema depending on the phase of this disease, which are indicative of the secondary immunodeficiency. The latter plays an important pathogenic in development of acute pleural empyema and gives every reason to use immunopotentiators such as extractum placentae promoting improvement of immediate and remote results of treatment. The work performs data on ultrastructural cell changes in plevra and lungs depending on cytomorphological structure of pleural exudate. These data are crucial in diagnosing the degree of pathologic process, depending on its phase. This approach helps to elaborate an individual surgical procedure and gives proof of using treatment- diagnostic thoracoscopy.
