Khirkh-Ialan V. Methodology rational arrangement of ground forces units on the terrain using geographic information technologies

The thesis is devoted to the development of theory and practice to improve the quality of analysis of geospatial information in solving problems of surveying the troops. The methodology and procedure of geospatial model terrain analyzes are determined for the organization of the deployment of forces at a distinct area, which provides maximum visible area and the number of observation points, the largest road network density, maximum area of vegetation and minimum slopes within a given area. Weighting factors of physical and geographical characteristics influence on its tactical features are determined. The mathematical model of rational choice location of units within a given area is developed, which allows to improve the quality of decision making process by conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the area. The methodology of area evaluation by means of GIS technology, which allows to reduce time, spent on making a decision by automating the process of analysis of the area to 20%, is improved.
