Object - altruistically - egoistic trend of the personality. The purpose - theoretical analysis of the essence of altruism and egoism, their origin: determination of the purposeful trend of the personality with different positions (altruism - egoism); the identification of the prevalence of the positions on different age periods, comparison of gender manifestations, the identification of the dynamics of altruism - egoism. Methods - theoretical analysis of the problem, observation, conversations, questionnaire design. Theoretical results and novelty - generalization of the peculiarities of the altruistically - egoistic trend of the personality: altruistic egoism and egoistic altruism - intermediate manifestations of positions age, and gender peculiarities of manifestations of altruism - egoism. This purposefully - meaningful position is not static, it, can change with the age approaching even to the diametrically opposite manifestation. Practical results - two variants of questionnaire design directed at the determination of the behavior as altruistically-egoistic one are worked out. This allows practical psychologists to choose definite psychocorrectional mechanism of influence. Results of research are introduced at teaching process of the psychologist' training courses. Efficiency of introduction-high sphere of use: practical work of psychological services.
