The subject of our investigation is progressive technological processes and instrument settings for surface forming of parts of body of revolution type with respect to one-spindle turning machines and automatised areas of automated machine; investigation methods – scientific approaches and principles of general machine building technology, metal cutting theory, as well as mathematical tool for analysis and synthesis of forming processes; novelty – the mechanism of correlation of engineering parameters of turning operation and instrument setting with quality index of surface forming of turned parts and performance characteristics of turning operation was defined; theoretical and practical results – algorithm and automatic design system of instrument setting and jaws for one-spindle turning machines were developed as well as efficient method of cutting tool setting outside the machine; level of implementation – implemented at Lutsk OJSC “Elektrotermometriya” and Lviv company “Thermoprylad”; branches –machine-building, instrument-making and other branches of national economy.
