Marchenko T. An initial matersal for the selection of soybeans sorts of the intensive type under the conditions of irrigated agriculture of the south of Ukraine.

Object: variety-samples and hybrids of soy-beans. Aim: to establish some peculiarities in variation and inheritance of the major economic traits in soybean variety-samples and hybrids and on this basis to work out methods for assessment and selection of highly productive forms under irrigated conditions in the south of Ukraine. Methods: field, laboratory, mathematical statistical. Novelty: there have been established and scientifically grounded the level of variation, the nature of inheritance, the relationship between economical traits of soybeans under the conditions of irrigations. There have been identified some constant lines possessing a complex of the valuable economic traits. Results: there was created a valuable original material for soybean breeding and a new soybean cultivar Venera 30 which has been sent to the State Variety Test. Application stage: the valuable lines of soybeans developed in the process of investigations will be used in the breeding programs of the other Ukrainian researchinstitutions and agrarion farms. Application area: agricultural production.
