Essay

The thesis deals with the results of experimental studies of thyroxin action on cholepoietic liver function. It has been established that oral thyroxin has an insignificant action both on cholepoiesis level and bile qualitative composition. Intramuscular injection of thyroxin increases both the level of choleresis and of biliary acids, cholesterin and total albumin. The results indicate that this hormone alters diffuse-filtration and biosynthesis processes in the liver. It has been show that adequate realization of choleretic effect of thyroxin requires retaining parasympatic nervous system functional activity.
