Subject: tomato heterotic selection. Aim: to reveal and to create cold-hardy early ripening initial material. Methods: laboratory-fields, measuring-weighted, biochemical, calculating, mathematic-statistic. Novelty: there has been revealed a breeding value of some semi-cultivated, mutant and sterile forms as to cold-hardiness and early maturity for the first time for the conditions of the Polissja. There has been done estimate of heterotic hybrids in tomato for their cold-hardiness. There have been created some perspective cold-hardy early heterotic F1 hybrids of tomato which have been passed for the State Variety Tests. Application stage: to NCGRU there were sent 10 sources of economically valuable traits of tomato . Scope of introduction: agriculture.
