Essay

The research deals with the new teacher professional development, induction into the profession, mentoring programs for new teachers in the USA at the end of the 20th - the beginning of the 21st century. The author's work is based on her study of the authentic American literature on teacher education and ongoing professional development. The analysis of the American sources shows that in the process of teacher education and professional development they single out a very important stage - the induction of beginning teachers into the profession, which is a bridge between a university student life and teaching.
