Ulishchenko V. Methodology of Teaching of Epic Works of Modernism in Foreign Literature classes.

Objective: educational process in Foreign Literature classes in senior forms of Secondary Comprehensive School. Aim: to develop, substantiate and experimentally test the methodology of teaching of epic works of Modernism in Foreign Literature. Methods: theoretical, empiric, statistical. Results: for the first time theoretically well-founded and experimentally proved methodology of teaching of epic works of Modernism in Foreign Literature. The dissertation justifies the need to implement an integral approach to teaching of works of fiction (within the integrity of their contents and form) based on the systematized involvement of motive, language and style, and cultural elements, as well as incorporation of analysis of new mythopoetic images with consideration of schoolchildren's perception peculiarities. The work also focuses on the following: modeling of possible true-life situations (in the process of certain coaching practice); inclusion of philosophical and literary material to be worked on by students in the very process of analysis of a modernist work of fiction; using tasks and challenges (cognitive, problematic, reflective, and creative ones) that differ in their didactic aims and encourage short-term motivation.
