Olena O. Mykhailo Maxymovych's Publishing and Editing Activity

The dissertation is devoted to the investigation of M. Maxymovych's editing and publishing activity in the context of journalism in Ukraine. The activity of M. Maxymovych as an editor of almanac is analyzed in the work. His first steps in journalism and editing activity are highlighted. The investigation of organisation and publishing of such almanacs as "Dennytsa", "Kyevlyanyn", "Ukrainets" by M. Maxymovych is the central point of dissertation. Much attention is payed to Maxymovych's work as an editor-in-chief of the journal "Russkaya beseda" during the preparation of Phundukley's historical and archeological publications, by the Temporal Comission. The dissertation deals with the main principles of Maxymovych's activity as an editor-in-chief and it also presents the classification of Maxymovych's publications as an outstanding literary figure. The classification is carried out on the basis of different criteria.
