Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to studying the adaptation characteristics of first-year students in higher schools. It is clarified that successful adaptation of first year students depends on such factors: emotion status and emotion stability of personality, self-appraisal, level of self-understanding, volition activity, level of interpersonal relationships, degree of integration of the self-image. It is shown that the level of personality adaptation depends on coordination between goals and achieved results of activity, on level of psychological adaptation and acquirement of new forms of activity, on formation and development of adequate self-appraisal, on role modeling and the development of self-conception. The object of help and correction in overcoming of desadaptation states is the system of aqcuired ways of a student's work, which have to be adequate to requirements of higher school and be based on individual-typological characteristics of personality.
