Tatiana V. TV news programs and political communication in Ukraine: typology, production, interaction with audience

The thesis also presents a theoretical model of TV news programme based on exsisting theories and practical experience of TV news production in modern Ukraine, it outlines the structure of TV news bulletin as a whole, analyzes its main characteristics, reveals the connection between the mode of political communication and TV news production. For the first time in history of Ukrainian journalism the research attempts to tackle and analyze current editorial policies of nation-wide broadcasters taking into consideration not only the formal outcome but also ownership and political ideology influencing editorial policies. For the first time the subject of research is based on real facts of TV news production in modern Ukraine never presented before. The author insists on critical approach to current practices of TV news production in Ukraine and stresses the importance of dialogue model of journalist-audience interaction.
