Kostrukov S. A problem of formation of democratic values in student youth in the transformational period

The dissertation analyzes a process of forming of democratic values of student youth in transformation society. Notions of the "value" and "democratic values" is clarified; a structural and functional model of democratic values is constructed; major factors of the process of their forming are determined; a role of education, in particular, of socio-humanitarian disciplines in forming the democratic awareness and culture of student youth is analyzed. Characterisitics of modern social environment, where democratic values of youth are formed, are studied in detail; factors inhabiting this process are analyzed. The author of the dissertation gives prove to the idea of accelerated introduction of the special course "Fundamentals of Democracy" developed by the Canada-Ukraine Democratic Education Project" into the educational process.
