The object - the system of selection of sportsmen in fencing at the stages of long-term improvement; the subject - the complex system of estimation of the fencers' moving potentialities at the stages of sporting training: methods - analysis of scientific-methodical literature; analysis of plans of preparations, diaries of sportsmen's, protocols of competitions, estimation of biological aidge, questioning, pedagogical observation and tasting of the sportsmen's; anthropometry, physiological tasting, psihophisiological tasting, method of expert estimation, mathematic statistic; the scientific novelty of the work consists in that the complex scientific approach to the estimation of the fencers' moving potentialities has been realized; the system of specific tests and criteria that permits to choose the sportsmen with great potential has been substantiated; the differentiation scales that permit to estimate the fencer's potentialities taking into account of his age and sort of weapon have been elaborated; the coefficient of amount of indices that are recommended for selection of fencers at the stages of preceding and specialized basic training, maximum realization of individual potential, preservation of achievement has been determined; the correlation of sports results and complex estimation of the fencers' potentialities has been determined.
