Stepanenko V. Improvement of methods of appraisal of a ship's collision avoidance situation

An effective means of monitoring and appraisal of situation have been developed on the basis of decomposition of set of surrounding targets and creation of virtual inadmissible areas in the space of true motion. For the first time the formal description of the process of navigation by means of statistical decision theory have been proposed. The formulas for efficiency of estimation of measured navigational parameters in case if real distribution of errors differs from the assumed one have been founded. The algorithms and program of imitation of close-quarter situation have been created on the basis of proposed means. Developed results can be used for designing of effective ship's system of navigational information. It have been implemented into shipping and crewing companies as well as into study process of ONMA.
