Prykhoda Y. The Concept Europe in the Ukrainian Press: Cognitive and Linguistic aspects.

The dissertation views the concept Europe in the Ukrainian newspaper discourse in retrospective. It presents a complex research of its essence as a mythologeme, cultureme and ideologeme. New ways of realization of the concept Europe have been found out as well as the dynamics of its functioning in the modern Ukrainian press. The author has formulated the ideas that underlie the modern integration strategies based on the concept of Europe and described perspective models of this concept in the Ukrainian context. The connotative potential of the concept Europe has been explored characterizing its associative field, peculiarities of metaphoric images creation and axiological parameters. Considerable attention is given to the development of the concept in the modern mass media environment.
