Yatsenko A. The Great Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as an Issue of the World Journalism.

The thesis presents a complex research of the phenomenon of The Great Famine of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as one of the most topical issues both in Ukrainian and in the world journalism. The author has improved the study of various aspects of famine, in particular journalistic (informational), national and social, moral and legal, demographic, historical, linguistic and conceptual ones. Special attention is given to peculiarities of eliciting of the Famine in Ukrainian and foreign editions and monographs (both modern and those of 1930s). Semantic field of the concept "famine" has been researched on the basis of lexicographical sources. For the first time linguistic and conceptual analysis of the lexeme famine of 1932-1933 has been conducted on the basis of artistic, publicistic and scholarly texts.
