Ukitska O. Regional Press in the Conflict Field of Local Authorities (Based on Lviv Newspapers in the Period of 1994-2004).

The dissertation is the first to study a journalist's representation of conflicts in government bodies. Conflict is regarded as the basic content- and form-driving factor of journalist's writings. The content, genre, plot-compositional and stylistic depicting of the field of conflict by means of journalism are being analysed basing on the real newspaper publications. The peculiarities of throwing light in the press upon such parameters of conflict processes as structure, typology, reasons of emerging, dynamics and functions are being considered. It is for the first time that the model of the press functioning in conflict processes, defining the strategy and tactics of the field of conflicts representation by journalists, has been developed and substantiated. The recommendations for mass media concerning depicting of conflict topics are being offered.
