Essay

On anaesthetised dogs the role of NO and mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mРТР) in the regulation of regional blood circulation, efficiency of oxygen using, and muscle contraction force were investigated. NOS inhibition or mPTP opening resulted in falling of a functional hyperaemia magnitude, reduction of the muscle contractions force and efficiency of oxygen using in m. gastrocnemius.Injection of the NO donor, melatonin or precondition prevented all that negative effects.
