Essay

The object of the investigation is the prose by V.Vynnychenko, mostly short epic genres - short stories , partly - stories and "Shchodennyk". The objective of the thesis is focused on the investigation of metaphysical and aesthetic structuring peculiarities in the short prose by V.Vynnychenko. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research grounds on the principle of deconstruction (F.Nietzsche, J.Derrida), psychoanalysis (works by S.Freud, G.Marcuze, K.-G.Jung, E.Fromm) and hermeneutics. Both historical and theoretical models of the Ukrainian literature development (works by T.Gundorova, N.Shumylo) and literary investigations by Lessya Ukrainka, I.Franko, S.Yefremov are adopted to estimate literary phenomena. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the first attempt made to study the theoretical range of problems of metaphysics as the key notion of West-European culture tradition by revealing the development and crisis of metaphysical ideas at the end of the 19th century with furtheractualization of the "philosophy of life" idea; to specify the researchers' opinion on the "philosophy of life" idea and its impact on the creative work by V.Vynnychenko. The world conception in the author's short prose is viewed in the context of the European culture deconstruction as it is, marked by the metaphysical world perception. Together with the results of the previous researches the investigation identifies the place of V.Vynnychenko's creative work in the context of Ukrainian modernism. The scientific field of investigation: Ukrainian literature.
