Essay

The analysis has been completed in three major directions. The location of sites of the 5th-7th centuries demonstrates that small areas of land were used for agricultural purposes for a short period of time. The distribution and extension of plots of land used for agricultural purposes took place in the 8th-10th centuries. During these centuries the lands were used for long periods of time. The material available from agriculture and cattel-breeding also point to extensiveness of rural economy in the 5th-7th centuries and its intensification in the 8th-10th centuries. This process was reflected in the improvement of technical resources, the change in the paleoethnobotanical complex, etc. Therefore, we can establish the fact of essential changes in the development of farming (the agricultural system in the first place) at the turn of the 7th century.
