Essay

The problems of Ukrainian ballet-master art development in the second part of the XXth century are considered. The difficult and detailed process in the formation of artistic principles of outstanding masters and gifted young choreographers, the interaction of traditions and innovation, the mastering foreign experience and successful creation of contemporary repertoire in cooperation with Ukrainian composers has taken place for mentioned period. Complex reseach of ways and tendencies in choreographic art development and achievements of some Ukrainian ballet-master in context of elaboration of ballet theatre and folk and scenic choreographic art in 50-s-90-s considers the consecutive development of national choreographic art. The thesis examines the artistic height of P.Vyrsky's innovative performances in the dance ensemble head by him and V.Vronsky's and A.Shekera's choreographic companies in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Odessa. Historical view to the main stages of its development can be found ina number of publications in periodicals and the reviews given in the thesis. Ballet-master creative work is considered fore shortened of changes reflecting artistic approach to interpretation of classic and modern ballet score by the representatives of different generations of Ukrainian ballet-masters. The development of Ukrainian ballet-master art is analized together with artistic trends and directions in western choreography and space-time co-ordinates of historical and cultural epoch. Phenomenological method gave an opportunity to understand deeper and expose the essence of ballet-master art as historical and cultural phenomenon. tructural and functional methods favoured revealing of specific character and exposing the essence of ballet-master art as the dynamic system, to observe how these peculiarities were reflected in various performances of ballet and choreographic companies of Ukraine.
