The object is a process of the study of students of higher technical schools how to use information technologies in their future professional activity; the aimis - the elaboration of scientifically grounded methods of forming of ecological competence of the students of hydrometeorological technical school by means of information technologies based on the integration of professional, ecological and general educational training; novelty - for the first time theoretical and methodical bases of forming of ecological competence of the students of hydrometeorological technical school in the process of study of information technologies are developed; criteria of its assessment are determined; the methods of its forming in the process of study of information technologies is theoretically substantiated ; results - an integrative approach to a creation of the system of pedagogical means of forming of ecological competence of the students of hydrometeorological technical school in the process of study of information technologies is carried out, teaching methodology directed on forming of ecological competence of the students of hydrometeorological technical school in the process of study of information technologies is theoretically substantiated; a new model of educational environment is developed and grounded; the system of assessment of levels of ecological competence of students is elaborated and experimentally tested; a positive influence of teaching methodology directed on forming of ecological competence of the students of hydrometeorological technical school in the process of study of information technologies on their general level of progress and its promotion of social maturing of the students are proved; it is introduced in secondary schools and higher schools; the field is Pedagogues.
