Essay

An analysis is made of the political aspects of the sustainable development concept formation and implementation thereof in terms of global and regional international relationships and in a national dimension. The political mechanisms of sustainable development are proposed, and the main factors preventing the transition to such a form of development are identified. The recent trends of international cooperation in this field are analysed.Because of growing influence of globalisation on all processes worldwide, and bearing in mind that sustainable development is possible only in a global scale, international cooperation is gaining a specific importance. Despite of a wide institutional and legislative basis of the international cooperation in favour of sustainable development this cooperation has not achieved the adequate level of efficiency. It is connected with a number of factors including such as the lack of coordination in international institutions activities, doubling and sometimes even differently directed functions thereof, etc.The sustainable development at the international level will be strongly dependent on globalisation processes influence on the international community. Actually, the objective processes of globalisation are recognised to be favourable for sustainable development, and, all the more, such development is impossible in the absence of such processes. At the same time, the "globalizm" with its negative consequences prevents sustainable development, that is why we must overcome the negative trends in world development and facilitate enhancing the constructive ones (integration, internationalisation, cooperation environment unification, etc.).
