The thesis presents a complex research of structural-semantic and communicative-pragmatic peculiarities of British newspaper news discourse construction by its media author when reader's reaction is foreseen. British newspaper news discourse sense peculiarities are treated as the result of structural-semantic and communicative-pragmatic processes of its construction by the media author. The content analysis in its broad understanding has been carried out considering the realisation of semantic, communicative pragmatic and general communicative strategies and tactics. The frequency of occurrence of these strategies and tactics are given for three main types of news: political, economic, and sport ones.
