Essence and indications of banking capital have been researched. The main micro- and macroeconomical function of banking capital have determined classified. The main stages of the banking capital's development in Ukraine and in the world have been analyzed and distinguished. Have been defined factors, which have an influence upon the development of banking capital in Ukraine. Have been distinguished the main obstacles for an efficient functioning of the banking capital, the main ways of increase of the level of capitalization of the national banking institution have been determined perspective directions of the improvement of the banking capital's formation as well as of its functioning efficiency increase in Ukraine.
