Essay

The object is the system of Ukrainian bardic singing traditional forms and groups; the purpose is opening the peculiarities of traditional Ukrainian bardic singing phenomenon as poly-structural and poly-functional ethnic, social and cultural system; the methods are narrative, cultural and historical, comparative, emphatic, elements of hermeneutic and mithopoetic ones; novelty is caused by the choice the aspect of study. The result: for the first time in Ukrainian Art studies, a system study of traditional Ukrainian bardic singing forms and groups was made, this phenomenon in the context of world culture was analyzed. Genesis and development peculiarities of traditional Ukrainian bardic singing were revealed, the specific features of various customs, world outlook, creativity, lifestyle and their interaction were shown. Conceptual grounds of bardic singing forms and groups laminar development were worked out, algorhythm of their evaluation and comparison and etalon model of “integral” bardic singing were developed which suggest extended understanding of the terms: spivetz (singer), spivotstvo (bardic singing), kobzarstvo, and bandurnytsvo; branch – theory and history of culture.
