Dudyuk L. The problem of ethnical formation of personality in Russian autobiographical prose of the XXth century (V.Korolenko and M.Gorky)

The given thesis is devoted to the problem of ethnical formation of personality in fiction autobiog-raphies. "The history of my contemporary" by V.Korolenko, and "Childhood" "In the society" "My Uni-versities" by M.Gorky and by other writers who belonged to different literary trends. While analyzing lit-erary works, it was found out that autobiographical principle has its own ways of character formation, in-ner world of personality: retrospectivity, selection of facts of the author's life, self - observation and self - analysis, psychology and epics. Comparing moral principles of autobiographical characters we have come to the conclusion that V.Korolenko created the image of harmonic contemporary, his moral is gen-erally human, the sense of his life is to serve people. M.Gorky's hero tried to create values, but emotional perception of the world prevails in his personality and he could not find the answer to the question: "Why do we live?" - and "What are people?". That is why his escape from the society is dramatical. M.Gorky - follower of class understanding of humanism and his revolutionarism had tragic consequences.
