Essay

Dissertation is devoted to investigation the role of ATP-sensitive potassium channels by diazoxide and its new fluoring-containing analogues in regulation the heart and vessels functions. Preminary activation KATP channel did not significantly affect myocardial functions under physiological conditions but improved its recovery during iscemia-reperfusion and also decresed the number of apoptotic and necrotic cells during anoxia-reoxigenation in culture neonatal cardiomyocytes. This cardioprotective mecanism is based both mitochondrial and sarcolemal KATP channel activation, dimunution the reactive oxygen species concentration, depressed apoptosis and decreased vasoconstrictory reactions of vessels.
