Zablovskyy A. The socialization of sex and age groups in the traditional culture of Ukrainians in the second half of XIX - beginning of the XX century.

The dissertation is devoted to study socialization of puberty groups of children and youth - one of the structural units of the sex and age stratification of the traditional Ukrainian society of the second half of XIX - beginning of the XX century. The author analyzed theoretically the problem of socialization by the way of studying detailed conceptual works in the sphere of "ethnography of children" and puberty stratification of Soviet as well as foreign researchers. The complex analysis of the periods of socialization of people from his birth to transfer to category of married man and woman has been fulfilled in this work. The pecularities of incorporation of children and youth into rural society, securing of labour and ritual roles and functions of these sex and age groups have been identified. The specific of preparation unmarried youth to family life was revealed by the example of consideration of youth communities in the traditional society of Ukrainians as well as gender aspects of the functioning of this puberty group as necessary precondition for effective realization of matrimonial strategy analyzed.
