Essay

An influence of lemon and lavender ether oils' olfactory stimulation on neurodynamic functions, short-term memory and brain electric activity was investigated. It was showed, that exposure of lemon ether oils' odor have a stimulant effect on the nervous system, which revealed in corresponding changes of brain electric activity and indexes of neurodynamic func-tions. Due its nonspecific activating effect these odorant pro-mote more effective memorizing of symbols and geometrical figures. Lavender ether oil has modulatory effect on the brain neurodynamic functions, which defined to a greater extent by properties of nervous system. The character of odorant-induced response depends on such personality traits, as neuroticism, extra-introversion, and genderBoth odorants revealed more pronounced stimulant effects on neurodynamic functions and attention in females. . Particularly, it was showed non-typical excitatory influence of lavender oils' odor on introversive and high-neurotic persons.
