Essay

The research has shown that the application of logopedic methods is not sufficient to correct speech deviations in first-graders. The thrust forms of correct speech have been shown to be unsteady. Children come back to their usnal defective speech, as speech deviations are components of the stable system of their social behaviour. The changing of usual (though defective) speech leads to the necessity to change the whole system of their adaptation. So, the application of logopedic methods must be complemented by the actions of psychological support, aimed to help children in social adaptation during their overcoming of speech deviations. The actions of psychological support were directed to develop joint activity both in children with speech deviations and in ones without them. These actions have improved the process of children's adaptation, speech changes have appeared to be stable, the returning to defective speech has not been observed.
