Essay

For the first time an attempt to create a theoretical conception of the modern media entertainment, including formation of terminological base, classification of electronic mass media projects, interpretation of the intercourse from the archaic to modern layers of semantic content with realization of the main relaxing mechanisms is accomplished. A variant of horizontal and vertical analysis of media entertainment is also offered. Its dominant components and levels are defined, systematized and summarized; transformation regularities are defined; traditionally Ukrainian media relaxing types are identified; concrete factual material - fragments of entertaining production - is introduced in the scholarly usage.
