Melnychuk O. The Status of World Cultural and Natural Heritage in International Law

The thesis is devoted to legal issues pertaining to World Cultural and Natural Heritage Conception, history of its formation and tendency of its development within the frameworks of the International Law. This work reveals the correlation of such concepts as Common Heritage of Mankind and World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Provided is the analysis of international legal relations between the Parties to Convention regarding the protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of 1972, Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and Fund for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage regarding protection, conservation, presentation, and transmission to future generations of cultural and natural objects included in the World Heritage List. Studied were also international legal relations on the adoption of The Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003) devoted to safeguarding and popularization of intangible cultural objects (songs, myths, faith, traditions, trades and so on).
