Pobidash I. Editorial and journalistic activity of Leonid Hlibov

The complex research of editorial and journalistic activity of Leonid Hlibov is carried out in the dissertation. The publisher of "The Chernigovskij listoc" (1861-1863) is submitted as one of the organizers of the Ukrainian periodicals, and the newspaper is considered as a publication of new type among editions of the ХІХ century. Innovative character of the newspaper was determined on the basis of such characteristics: the first private newspapers in Ukraine, the publication was in Ukrainian language. The comparative characteristic of the weekly "Chernigovskij listoc " and the journal Оsnоva" indicated the place and role of Leonid Hlibov?s newspaper in the press of the 60th years of the ХІХ century. The dissertation analyzed Leonid Hlibov's sociopolitical and moral positions, his ideological platform and the editor's theoretical opinion about the publishing process in Ukraine in the mid of ХІХ century as well as his practical organizing abilities. This work investigated style and language of Leonid Hlibov's journalistic materials and considered his literary works on the pages of periodicals.
