Essay

The thesis deals with studying Zhabotin stage of the Early Iron Age of the Dnepr right-bank Forest-steppe region. It is basis is materials of Zhabotin settlement. These settlement materials are systematized and analyzed by uniform methodical installations. Thesis puts into scientific use exact typological and statistical criteria of Zhabotin stage ceramics that permits to define Zhabotin settlement as a reference site of Early Iron Age of Ukrainian right-bank Forest-steppe region. The typological and statistical analysis of the ceramics from Zhabotin has led to the distinction of three chronological phases in this settlement (Zhabotin I, II and III). Specific types of ceramic vessels represent each phase. Chronology is determined on parity with Еarly and Middle Hallstatt culture of Southeast Europe. Chronologically and cultural the rhythm of development Zhabotin stage coincides with a rhythm Middle Hallstatt culture Basarabi. Research includes a correlation of chronology of preScythian and Early Scythian (RSK) stages in the basis of relation of Central Europe, Orient and Eastern Asia chronology. Criteria innovation Zhabotin a cultural complex in relation to Chernoles are determined. In relation to Chernoles to culture, Zhabotin monuments form the special cultural innovative horizon traced on all categories of archeological culture. The model genesis of cultures in considered territory from end 9th to the 7th century BC according to which between Chernoles and Zhabotin there was a cultural transformation is offered, that has led to formation of new culture.
