The musical landscape as a coordinated system with the established rules of structural and semantic syntax in the works of Ukranian composers of XXth century is analyzed in the dissertation. The analysis of the definition in the theory of art and literature allowed to determine the role and place of landscape imagery in music and to interpret the problem of landscape in music as a problem of implementation of art demonstration. Lyricism and implementation of features of national mentality is inherent to landscape demonstration in music: ontological optimism and emotional brightness in natural images. The principles of personification and psychological parallelism that became the typical feature of modern Ukrainian musical landscape are formed in folk examples. The work's problems are concentrated upon definition of features of structural and semantic cliches of musical landscape in every separate musical composition, which in total make a system of structural and semantic syntax of landscape. The structural and semantic parameters of musical landscape are examined in the point of psychology of musical interpretation and with the help of structural and semantic cliches that function in music at the superficial, texture and deeply-"simulation" levels. The prospect of development of landscape in music lies in the possibility of demonstrating the essence and context of Man's image in modern art with the help of natural images.
