Object of the study: Reproductive system of girls of various biological ages. Purpose of the study: To determine the characteristics of devel-opment of the reproductive system function in girls living near big industrial metallurgical plants, to substantiate the principles of pre-vention and correction of impairments in the work of reproductive system. Methods of the study: Clinical, biochemical, radioimmunological, statistical. Practical significance: The information about the incidence and character of impairments in the reproductive system during sexual maturation of the girls residing near large industrial interprocess, which was obtained during the performed research, suggests the necessity of regular (not less than once a year) preventive examinations by a gynecologist of all age groups of girls with the purpose of early detection of disorders in the course of pubertal period and dynamic observation. Novelty of the obtained results: Based on the findings, it was established that constant influence of harmful factors characteristic for the areas located near large metallurgical plants (dust, heavy metal oxides, sulfur and nitrogen dioxide - coefficient of summary air pollution 25.2 vs 15.5 in the conventionally ecologically clean area) increased the amount of luteinizing hormone, progesterone and testosterone, reduced prolactin and cortisol concentration during pre-pubertal and increase in pubertal period. For the first time, it was shown that impairments of the function of hy-pophyseal-ovarian complex in girls residing in ecologically unfavorable conditions are due to hyperactivation of sympatho-adrenal system with prevailing activity of mediator link in the primary stage and hormonal in the period of menstrual function development. For the first time, it was noted that impairments of hypophyseal-ovarian complex function in girls residing near large industrial plants decelerated the rates of forming secondary sexual signs and menstruation rhythm development, secondary amenorrhea is 8 times more frequent. It was shown that in girls from ecologically unfavorable areas both with normal and impaired menstrual cycle, the leading role in forming the interaction between hypophyseal-ovarian and sympatho-adrenal systems is played by dopamine (vs the girls from ecologically clean areas in whom the leading role is played by noradrenalin). It was shown that modern preventive and therapeutic measures could control all the revealed disorders. Introduction: The findings of the research were introduced to the work of gynecologists of RCCH and CCCH No. 1 (Dnepropetrovsk), CMH No. 1 (Krivoy Rog), IPHCA (Kharkiv), CFM (Sevastopol). Sphere of application: medicine, obstetrics and gynecology.
