Essay

Object: potato selection. Aim: to develop a genetically diverse breeding material, to establish the nature of productivity and its components' manifestation. Methods: field, laboratory, biochemical, dispersion, correlation analysis. Novelty: the development of highly productive phyto phtora-resistant breeding material along with high starch content in potato tubers, crude protein, amino-acid, antiscorbutic vitamin contents, low content of nitrates and reducing saccharids has been substantiated. Result: the diverse original material and 4 new cultivars of potato have been developed. Application stage: potato cultivar Oksamyt-99 has been introduced for the Polisje region, Forest-Steppe and Steppe of Ukraine. Application area: Farms with different forms of property of AIC of Ukraine.
