Essay

The object of study – psychological adaptation to training in a higher school.. The purpose of study is revealing and study of formation of self-consciousness and features of the first-year students’ I-concept, which determine optimization of their psychological adaptation to new conditions of educational activity. The methods: the theoretical analysis of the psychological literature on a problem of research; psychodiagnostic research of psychological features of self-consciousness, features of the I-concept and first-year students’ psychological adaptation to conditions of training in a higher educational institution; forming experiment as development and approbation of a social-psychological training for the first-year students’; the mathematic-statistical analysis; methods of conversation, supervision. Novelty: is revealed, that one of the major factors of optimization of the first-year students’ psychological adaptation is formation of their positive I-concept. The theoretical value of work: the features of first-year students’ self-consciousness, which cause a different degree of success of their adaptation to educational activity are revealed, the representation about conditions and factors of optimization of such adaptation is extended. The practical value of work the methods of formation of first-year students’ self-consciousness and ways of updating of its negative attributes are developed; the program of formation of the positive I-concept can be used by psychological services of higher educational institutions. The subject and degree of the introduction: the developed social-psychological training is introduced in educational process of Kharkov national university of radioelectronics and Kharkov state academy of physical culture. Efficiency of the introduction - high. The sphere of the use: higher educational institutions, psychological services.
