Ukrayinets' Y. Justification of a conceptual model of choice of method of urinary bladder cancer treatment.

Dissertation is devoted to elaboration and justification of conceptual model of choice of optimal method of urinary bladder cancer treatment.In a basic group1185 patients with urinary bladder cancer (UBC) were included. Diagnostics and treatment was carried out according to traditional standard scheme. On the basis of profound analysis of treatment results in a basic group a conceptual model of choice of method of UBC treatment was worked out.Examination group included 304 patients. In diagnostics stage of the disease (TNM), extent of malignancy (G), character, size, localization, etc. was taken into account. In choosing treatment method there was used an elaborated conceptual model: age, sex, general health state of a patient, concomitant diseases, functional state of the upper urinary tract were taken into account.In both groups patients were divided into 3 ones by treatment method: surgical, combined (surgery+system chemotherapy or radiation therapy), complex (surgery+system chemotherapy +radiationtherapy). On the basis of thorough analysis of treatment results in a basic group, a conceptual model of choice of method of UBC treatment was worked out. To check up its efficacy and validity an examination group was used. Remote treatment results in the latter (incidence of relapses, duration of favorable period, 3-year survival) were better than in a basic group (p<0,05 0,01).
