Essay

The dissertation studies effects of some N-uronoil-derivative amino acids N-uronoyl-в-alanin (DAGU-Ala), N-uronoyl-glycil-D,L-glutamin acid (DAGU-Glu) and N-uronoyl-glycil-glycin (DAGU-Gly) on electrical activity of Helix albescens Rossm. neurons and rat behavior in different stress-tests. Such compounds as DAGU-Ala and DAGU-Glu occurred to inhibit mostly the output potassium current, whereas DAGU-Gly - mostly the input sodium and calcium ionic currents. Systematic injection of DAGU-Gly rendered anxiolitic effect, stronger than that of pyracetam, while DAGU-Glu rendered antidepressant effect, stronger than that of amitriptyline. The collected results bring out clearly the possibility of further research of N-uronoil derivatives in experimental pharmacology to help produce the corresponding neurotropic medicines on their basis.
