Gurjeva S. The typology of the contemporary Press of the Eastern Ukraine

The given paper provides for the first time a complex analysis of the Eastern Ukrainian press typology and the integral results of its functioning in the context of the whole information system of the Ukrainian press as well as its interaction with the global media. The essential features and main components that form the system of Regional media typology and define the typological structure of any kind are analyzed. It is pointed out that the most characteristic types of newspaper periodics are the social-political press (party editions included), business, advertisement and advertisement-information newspaper. Among the Eastern Ukrainian magazines the dominating ones are feminine and masculine, recreating press and religions editions. The dependence of the typological press structure of the Eastern Ukraine on social-political and economic spheres of the society being in active reforming process nowadays as well as its dependence on the modern information and communication technologies are investigated.
