Essay

The dissertation includes complex research of the modern publicistic portrait genre, it is also set up and proved the hypothesis of functional independence, methodological originality of this genre both in the field of modern portraitistics and in the philology. The historical and comparative method of the exis-tent samples of portraits enabled to formulate the general conception of this genre and emphasized its par-ticular role in the formation of aesthetic conception and historical memory in names. The system— typo-logical method permitted to single out the genre concept "object — aim" and to differentiate the variety of publicistic portraits. The dissertation also includes the analysis of eclectic, improvisational structure of the publicistic portrait.
