Kolesnikova V. Scientific and Culture - Enlightenment Work of V.V. Chvojka.

The thesis core points are V.V. Chvojka's role in the history of native archaeological science, the importance of his work in the spheres of culture and enlightenment spread. Basing on numerous sources used, the author studied scientific, cultural, enlightenment and museum activities of V.V. Chvojka, his scientific views on the processes of historical development as regards the territory of the Middle Dnieper. The author shows how V.V. Chvojka's scientific interests were forming. V.V. Chvojka's input in the area of field archaeological researches is described. The thesis contains an analysis of V.V. Chvojka's scientific concept. All aspects of his museum activity are presented in this paper. It also throws the light on the key points of V.V. Chvojka's scientific and enlightenment work aimed to popularize the region's ancient history. The author reckons, that it is enlightenment activity, that was the final result of V.V. Chvojka's overall work, which included archaeological and museum activities.
