Essay

An insight is offered into the concepts of "health" and 'healthy lifestyle" as well as into the essential aspects of a healthy lifestyle for SEN senior school students. The suggested research-related indicators and criteria enable one to establish and successfully investigate the specific levels of a healthy lifestyle development in senior pupils with special needs. An appropriate pedagogical support is developed and experimentally substantiated to facilitate the correlated formation of a healthy lifestyle in mentally handicapped senior school students in order to create meaningful emotional/motivational and operational /organizational components of the academic and remedial mentoring programming of special needs schools.
