The research object is the history of science and technics in Ukraine. The research subject is the becoming and function of the periodical journal „Ingener" in particularly conceptual, theoretical and fact logical contribution of the journal to the development of railroad transport of the end of XIX-th - the beginning of XX-th century. Tasks put in work, we had permited with the help of general scientific receptions of research (typology, classification), inter subject (structural - system approach), own historical (chronological, rather - historical, descriptive), and also methods of source study and historiographical analysis and synthesis.
