Essay

Object: selection of the lines resistant to phomopsis and estimation of inheritance of resistance in the test-hybrids. Aim: line and hybrid improvement for phomopsis in sunflower. Methods: field, laboratory, statistical. Novelty: identification of the donors for resistance to phomopsis, which are combined with economic traits. Results: there have been selected 6 lines of sunflower useful for selection and have been developed 6 test-hybrids possessing high economic traits, which are recommended to use in a breeding process. Application stage: in the cooperation with other scientists of the laboratory hybrid Zorepad was originated; the working collection of sunflower lines for resistance to phomopsis was enriched. Application area: scientific institutions of AIS of Ukraine.
