The object is semantic universals in typologically different languages. The main purpose of the investigation is to study and describe metaphor as a semantic universal. The methods of the investigation are descriptive-analytical, contrastive, component, conceptual analysis. The results may be used in the lexicographical practice, courses of lexicology and stylistics, general linguistics and comparative typology.
