The dissertation is dedicated to the research of language genre peculiarities of V.O. Sukhomlynskiy’s pedagogical works. The conception and structure of language personality are considered in this thesis; pedagogical discourse from the point of view of its communicative strategy (explanatory, axiological, testing, assistive) has been analyzed. Genre – style’s aspect of V.O. Sukhomlynskiy’s pedagogical discourse has been described. On the basis of analysis of writer’s heritage, the peculiarities of usage in the outline of his works such language – stylistic means as metaphor, epithet, comparison, personification, proverbial expression, literary quotation, saying, contextual synonym, neologism have been analyzed. The peculiarities of syntax of V.O. Sukhomlynskiy’s scientific, publicistic and fiction have been researched. The role of native language’s word in the process of child’s upbringing, education and development is displayed. Specific peculiarities of teaching Ukrainian language and literature, which V.O. Sukhomlynskiy had used in his activities have been defined.
